June 18th – June Meeting of the DCBA

Everyone,

I hope this message finds all of you doing well. I am writing to invite all Members to attend our next general meeting on Thursday June 18th @ noon at the Rolling Stone Pizza Pub in Juneau and to announce a few other important updates. The meeting is on Thursday this month, not Wednesday.

1) General Meeting – Thursday June 18 @ Noon – Rolling Stone Pizza Pub
Our special guests this month will be Shelby Brandsma from the Dodge County Family Court and Attorney Mickale Carter of Kirschbaum and Carter in Beaver Dam. Shelby will be speaking about changes and updates in the Dodge County Family Court Mediation Program. Atty. Carter will speak to us about her role as a GAL and what attorneys should know if they have a GAL appointed in one of their matters. I think the program will be very informative and I know both Shelby and Atty. Carter are looking forward to presenting to the DCBA.
The location of the meeting will be our favorite spot, the Rolling Stone Pizza Pub in Juneau.

I have tried to find a new location, but am having a very hard time finding one that is large enough and that can provide a la carte food. I know in the past the Juneau Community Center has been suggested, and there is a new location, the Open Door Café, in Mayville that may be suitable. Unfortunately, neither location has gotten back to me – so we will be having the meeting at the Rolling Stone. If any DCBA members have suggestions for future meeting locations, please let me know!

2) Golf Outing – July 15th – Whispering Springs
Fond du Lac Attorney Ron Hammer has invited Dodge County attorneys to attend the Fond du Lac County Bar Association golf outing on July 15 at Whispering Springs. Todd Snow is organizing the golf and Dan Parks the dinner. Contact Todd or Dan if you are interested in attending.

3) DCBA Member Contact Information on Website
We have started posting the names and contact information of DCBA members on the website. If you would like your name on the list – please add it by clicking the link and filling out the form here: http://www.dodgecountybar.com/resources/get-on-the-mailing-list/.

4) Call for Writers
As part of our outreach efforts in the community, the DCBA would like to start posting free articles regarding various legal matters on our website. If any DCBA members are interested in writing a column – please contact Collin. Any topic you believe the Dodge County community might be interested in is fair game. Also, if any writers would like to post their article on their own firm’s website, I am more than happy to help if need be.

Thanks everyone. I hope to see all of you next Thursday.

Best Regards,

Collin
